The association of social promotion Joint was founded in December 2003 by a group of young people who had gained meaningful educational and formative experiences and wanted to transmit them. Joint acts to raise the citizens of tomorrow by educating the youth of today through the principles of the aggregation of youth and of exchange of knowledge, ideas, initiatives and projects. Our aim is to provide youngsters with opportunities of training and growth through non-formal education and intercultural learning.
Non-formal education is a particular type of learning that moves away from frontal methods of teaching, while relying on an active educational methodology, participatory and experiential, that enhances peer learning. To travel, meet and discover and interact with new lifestyles, people and cultures are fundamental elements of all the Joint activities. The encounter with cultural diversity, personal and social and intercultural learning that arise from it, are essential for the growth of youth.
The mission of Joint is to contribute to the building of a just and responsible society through the creation and promotion of opportunities for enrichment and personal growth for young people. The values that we promote through all our activities are: participation, human rights, the rule of law, respect for people and peaceful coexistence. Fundamental is also social inclusion, that’s why Joint guarantees maximum accessibility to its initiatives, particularly with regard to young people who are in economic, social and educational disadvantage.
Our activities: • European Voluntary Service, European Union program that allows young people between 18 and 30 years to live up to 12 months in another country to collaborate on a volunteer project on one of these issues: artistic activities, environmental education, assistance to elderly and disabled people, mobility projects and youth information, projects in museums, libraries, educational projects with children.
• International exchanges, meetings lasting 7-10 days, during which groups of young people from different countries meet to discuss and carry out activities and workshops on a topic specifically close to the sensitivity of the young. Participation is open to all young people aged between 13 and 30 years old.
• Training courses, projects that last up to a maximum of 10 days and are tailored both for leaders of youth organizations and for teachers, instructors, operators who work with young people.
